Title: Echos and Reverberations Medium: Colored Pencil size: 13" by 15" $1400 “Echoes and Reverberations” is part of my Portal Series. It captures the essence of our thoughts and emotions that we send out into the world. Those feelings reverberate around us causing ripples and interact with others in our world, and eventually those same elements are echoed back to us. The space where they meet causes changes. They collide with each other and blossom into something new.
Lost in My Own Reflection 16" h by 11" w $1270 Lost in My Own Reflection is Colored Pencil on paper. It is the fourth in my portal series and represents that world we find within the mirror. It is reminiscent of Narcissus and his inability to look beyond his own physical beauty, but conjures up deeper contemplation such as how does one see themselves? The flower is beautiful but it sees itself differently in the reflecting pool. What does that mean? What world does it really live in and how does the portal change what it sees reflected back to it?
Luscious - Colored Pencil 15" by 13". $1400 “Luscious” captures every feeling of richness. It is lavish, deep, and full. It reminds one of velvets, dark chocolates, rich and tawny ports. There is a mystery hidden in the shadows that pull you deeper, engulfing you, leaving you feeling fulfilled, pampered, and satisfied. Luscious is the portal to extravagance.
A Story of Fae and Whisky, Colored Pencil, 15"H by 13"W, $1400 “A Story of Fae and Whisky” is part of my Portal Series. Inspired by Pop's Famous Brand Canadian Whisky, it transports you to a winter night long ago when ghost stories were told on Christmas Eve. You are in a warm, fire-lit room listening to your grandfather tell an ancient story of the wee folk. The glow from the fire sets the mood as Grandfather sips his whisky and spins a folktale of fairies, new worlds, legends and adventures.
Title: Orb Weaver Medium: Colored Pencil 18"by12" $1555 “Orb Weaver” pixelates our world into colors and sensations. As we try to make sense of everything around us it shows a simpler, yet more exciting, version of our surroundings. The image is woven into something tangible, expansive, further reaching, as if it goes on forever.
Title: Side Mirror Medium: Colored Pencil 24"by16" $2770 “Side Mirror” although not technically part of my Portal Series, it may have been the precursor; the jumping off point. Side Mirror is cousin to Orb Weaver, where we see the world, in this case from the side mirror of my car, through a modern pixelated lens. The environment jumps and moves, is simplified, yet still extremely complicated. Is the world flattened by this or does it merely appear that way due to our current way of viewing? The fact that we are experiencing this image through a mirror, and a side one at that, makes one wonder what reality truly is.
Title: Journey Through the Looking Glass Medium: Colored Pencil 15"by13" $1400 “Journey Through the Looking Glass” is the quintessential portal. It IS Alice falling through the rabbit hole. It IS stepping into Narnia. The viewer wants to enter the promised world on the other side. So many possibilities, so much wonder. The green light swirling and inviting you to just step through. Never mind the magic; the darkness. Never mind the unknown, it says. I have promises for you, riches for you, temptations and delights for you. Journey Through the Looking Glass is every siren song and enticement known to the world.
Title: Honey Dripper Medium: Colored Pencil 11"by12" $950 “Honeydripper” is the perfect example of my love of light and liquid. With this piece I wanted to show the liquid aspect of colored pencil. When creating it I am showing you the rainbow of life in a simple drop of honey. There is a whole world inside that drop. As you look into the honey you are pulled into that world and like many of my other pieces it transports you to a new land and reflects the world back to you.
Title: Winter Sip Medium: Colored Pencil 18"by13" $1685 “Winter Sip” is part of my season series. It speaks to winter as seen through a traditional drink of the season. In this case a dark and hearty stout. Winter can be cold and dark. A time to reflect; to look back upon ourselves and what we are. But winter also offers hope. Green apples are still available and bright oranges promise the spring to come. Peering into the glass we are reminded of the complexity of life. The beauty of the patterns that run through everything we do and say. They are all reflected in this simple yet complex drink in winter.
Title: Spring Resurrection Medium: Colored Pencil 22"by18" $1010 “Spring Resurrection” is a promise. It is a transition from the darkness of winter to the rebirth, renewal, and rewards of spring. The greys and browns collide and mingle with the greens of life. The flowers begin to vibrate; the center of it all. Passion, in the form of purple, surges forward and we see life begin again from all corners and all directions; North and South contribute strength and power, East and West contributing life and death. It is the balance of the ages.
Title: Potable Autumn Medium: Colored Pencil 17"by12" $1470 “Potable Autumn” was the first in my series based on the seasons as seen through timely drinks. Autumn is the changing of the guard, it is rambunctious, vibrant, exciting. Autumn leads us from the abundance and heat of summer to the starkness of winter. It is the last hoorah before we settle in and hibernate. Potable Autumn is a way to drink in that vibrancy, to take in the joys of nature and the man-made world. It reminds us of all that is special in Autumn.

Title: Potion D'amour Qui a mal Tourne Medium: Colored Pencil 11"by12" $777 “Potion D’Amour qui a mal Tourne” was the first in my series about Love Potions. I was reminded of great tragedies and stories of the past which tell of a young woman desperate for love. She starts a process she may not know much about, creating an ancient love potion. But something goes wrong and unbeknownst to her she has created anything but a love potion. The story is poignant, dark, and deep. Touching that part of our memory and our longing. We all feel for this girl. Maybe we were this girl.
Title:Cupid's Cup Medium: Colored Pencil 12"by9" $777 Cupid’s Cup is part of my Love Potion series. It is an uncomplicated story, one of love, simple and pure. Title: Black Magic Medium: Colored Pencil 12"by9" $777 When creating “Black Magic” I was at the end of a series I based on love potions. I had drawn several pieces in the series all conveying the idea of different people looking for, and creating, love however they could. Some of those people were successful and some were not. But the musical standard “That Old Black Magic” kept running through my head. Those lyrics “Old black magic has me in its spell, Old black magic that you weave so well…Like a leaf caught in a tide…Under the old black magic called love” were catching me in their spell. I had to render a piece that captured all of these emotions and more. And so “Black Magic” was born. The elements come together to represent all the aspects of love that is so overpowering it must be Black Magic.
